There are something like 34 dive ops here. No one has used them all, so who is to say which one is best? I have used about 25 or so and can say that there is no "best" one. Folks who claim that their favorite dive op is the best generally point to aspects of the service which are common at other dive ops too ("they set up your gear for you!").

Tell us the kind of thing you are looking for and we will suggest some.

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for the fast response. I've dove with Bob Sotos, Don Fosters, Divetek Divers, 7MB Divers as well as Sunset House (shore dives). Just checking in to see what other more seasoned divers prefer when in in GCM. Have not dove Kittiwake yet and plan to this trip. Am looking for quality of the dive operation, boats, dive masters and value. I don't need anyone to setup my gear for me, but that's a nice thought. Loved that at the Little Cayman Beach Resort when I was there years ago.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated. Will be in GCM 2/11-2/25.

    Thx!

Sunny, where are you staying? Location will influence the responses. If you're up for some shore diving, we will be doing a good deal of that between Feb. 19 and 24.

Alex made a very good point and I have to agree with him that there is no "Best" dive op on island.I have been diving since the 80's with many of the dive ops,and now own on island, and have to say they all are good. There is probably only one or two dive ops that I would not dive with for different reasons.

I am sure you will have a lot people chime in and state a specific dive op is the best ,I would recommend you look at the source of endorsements, a lot of people come to GC once or twice and dive with a dive op and think they are the best and have no real comparisons. On the other hand you will have people who have dove many dive ops especially on the sister islands and can state from experience which they consider best and why.Like anything else consider the source.

Definatly do the Kittiwake it is a fun dive.

Alex and EastEndDiver, I hear you, should have titled this a little differently like "What are your favorite dive sites on GCM" and go with word of mouth from my friends on island... Not meant to offend anyone.

Really looking forward to diving Kittiwake as my son was in the navy years ago and we watched it come into GCM a year ago December. Pretty Cool!

Namaste and thanks to all responses.

I'm a big fan of Seasports. Jim and Kevin are a lot of fun. The biggest reasons I chose them was 1) If you're on 7MB they pick you up by boat at your resort (this avoids the shuttle bus pick up as I really don't like traffic) 2) 9AM pick up. (I like to sleep in). 3) Small boat, small groups, personal service. If your looking at boats I'd say his is pretty small but in good condition.

7 mile beach area has lots of dive ops to choose from that will pick you up at your condo.I like DNS diving,Ambassador,Indigo, wall to wall to name a few.For the last few years I have used DNS mostly, they have 3 boats and dive the West side,North Wall, and South side depending on weather conditions. They will store your gear for you which is nice not having to carry it back BUT most dive ops will provide that service. Most dive ops will give you a discount for multiple days of diving as they do.
