    Another FI review

Just got back today from a week at FI. We did the $539/week special and had a great time. We flew in on the Continental Direct flight from Houston and the plane was about 1/4 empty on the return flight. Because of the timing of the connections out of Houston we had to lay over. I have not seen much in the way of info on where to stay near the Houston Airport posted here. We stayed at the Marriott at the airport and they run a free underground subway to the terminals every 5 minutes. It was extremely convenient.

Our boat captain was Roki and divemaster was Derry. They were great. We went out on time for every dive and Roki had a cooler of fresh fruit for each dive. The visability wasn't the best and the dive sites we did on the south side of the island were generallly in fairly rough water. The one day we went to the north side for our morning dives, the water was considerably calmer.

The food was good (lobster at least two nights for dinner) and there was plenty of it.

All in all it was a good time and a great trip

    Hi Duke,
We enjoyed diving with you and the rest of our boatmates at FI. We had a nice group on that boat and we enjoyed the comradery a lot. The second week we had Don and Carolyn on our boat again but the rest of the people were a group from California who were all together resulting in a different atmosphere. After you left the wind died down and the water was much calmer. Instead of 4 - 6 ft seas that you experienced we had 1 - 3 foot seas.

Unfortunately Carolyn got a case of the bends on Saturday and couldn't dive at all that week.

    Ed
