Hi Bud,

I haven't been there in many years but I'm planning on a trip next year. Lonely Planet has a book on Panama and there are some suggestions on diving in Panama. From what I've heard Isla Coiba is your best bet but I think currents are a bit of concern for new divers. I've been in contact with an American ex-pat named John at PanamaYacht tours and he can hook u up with some diving. He seems to be nice guy. You can find him here: John Shyne <johns@panamayachtours.com>. If you are a fisherman you will be in heaven in Panama. If you have a big budget head to Pinas bay. Great fishing. Other than that Isla Contadora offers some diving. Don't head down into the Darian it's too dangerous.

Good luck and keep us posted.
