Hiya!
Hopefully this hasn't been asked too many times already
I'm planning a trip to Croatia with my girlfriend and we were wondering what are the best sites around there for diving? I have a few dives already but she's a beginner.

My hotel will propably be on island of Hvar and town (or village) Jelsa. How easy is it get from there to Vis? Are there any special divespots at Hvar? I've heard that there aren't too good public transport from Jelsa to that other village where boats leave to Vis. Any suggestions? Someone also told me that there are plenty of water taxis going from island to island. Is that true and what is the prize range?
Thanks a bunch!
If you have any questions about diving in thailand I'll be happy to help

Jelsa is very nice little town but the public transport on any Croatian island is not so good. If you want to go to Vis the regular way is to return to Split and take a ferry to Vis. Regarding taxis, they mainly organize daily excursions for visiting beaches and such things on other islands rather then being regular way of transport from one island to another.
For diving check http://www.tauchinjelsa.de/ I'm not so familiar with Hvar but I know (from friends) that there are many beautiful diving spots.
One Euro is something like 7.3 kuna (local currency). One USD is something like 6 kuna.
I am going to Germany on end of July, and am then taking the car down to croatia with my brother. I am planning on booking with these guys: http://www.croatiadivers.com after chatting with them over e-mail for about a week, they seem very helpfull and responsive. They also have some nice pictures of dive sites on there site. I originaly wanted to do Egypt, but ended up picking croatia instead.
Have a good trip. Post some pics, I`ll do the same when I get back.

Thanks for the info Chris! Didn't quite find out where those guys operate but at least they had some nice pictures! I'm about to travel to Hvar and as I've now found out there should be some nice divesites. I'm sure to post pictures if I manage to get any decent ones. I'm buyng a new camera (c-8080) so we'll see how I manage a new setting. As I've made a trip to egypt I think you made a good choice going to Croatia instead. Haven't been in Croatia yet but it can't be worse than Egypt. Diving in Egypt is brilliant but the people. Don't want to sound rude but they were the worst kind of money rippers I've came across so far.
