What is the spread on the beam? With multiple elements it seems this would struggle to be very focused (in the 6-8 degree range anyway) which would make communication more of a challenge...

Practically we're able to set any angle we want, its just the matter of choosing the focusing optics.

7XRE and 4 TEC are set to have same beam angle that HID when maximally focused but also provide a nice evenly spread light sill circle surrounding very strong hot spot, light spill is about 25% of the hot spot brightness.

7 XPG is a wide beam angle light, used by divers in cleaner waters. It doesn't have very strong hot spot but wide big lid area allowing to see for example bigger portion of a cave room, wreck room in cleaner waters.

We also have a TEC One which is focused even more the any HID could be, its a very powerful hot spot with minimal (almost none) light spill penetrating murkiest waters.
