Bluespotocto, 2000 dollars for the whole set-up is a real bargain. You would have all you need to get started (you could add a second strobe later but a single strobe works fine in most situations), possibly with the exception of a lens, and the D300 is a brilliant camera. It's none of my business but I would jump at this chance to get started with a first-rate set-up if I were you.
