    Compressor Identification

    IMAG0347.jpgIMAG0348.jpgIMAG0349.jpgIMAG0350.jpgIMAG0351.jpgIMAG0354.jpgIMAG0355.jpg

Can someone please help me with identifying this compressor and maybe a little information about the particular model? I am pretty sure it is a Bauer K15-E3 with a serial number of 84/2668/06/01. There are no markings on the frame of the compressor or fill station. The compressor block has casting numbers all over it and what I believe is the serial number. I am looking for a manual for the entire unit, Compressor and fill station. By the time I called Bauer today they were closed (called to late), I'll try again Monday.

    Thank you,
    Matt

It is a Bauer K15 block in what looks like a Mako frame. Up until 1988, Bauer sold blocks to many repackagers. I have seen and worked on K15s in Allied, Mako and Sterling Compressors packages. The filter towers look like Robbins Aviation towers. The auto drain is also an earlier Bauer version. I'd bet the motor is 15hp, 3 phase. Bauer rated the K15 as a continuous duty, 5000 psi, 20 scfm block.

Looking closer, I see the blue final separator, which combined with the filtration towers, makes me think that this unit might have been put together by Inner Space Research. I don't even know if they are still in existence. I'm sure the original owner, Ed Hall, has passed. They were based out of Hialeah, FL. I doubt that you can get an actual manual for the complete unit, but you can get a manual for the block. Try contacting August Industries in Carrollton, 972.245.7000. Ask for Porter.

Thank you Craig, I will try to get in touch with Porter on Monday. I did find a Inner Space Research compressor company on the internet and it looks like they are based out of Hialeah, FL. I might also try them.

    Thank you again,
    Matt
