How long would one last ?

I bought my compressor from AireTex.

AireTex is a very backwards company. "Retarded" is the word that comes to my mind when I recall my dealings with AireTex.

    You've been warned.

A short summary of my dealings with AireTex:

I bought a compressor from them a few years ago. Customer support was very poor. The people answering the phones genuinely seemed somewhat retarded. And they had very little knowledge of the product that they sold me.

When I had very basic questions about the compressor set-up, they transferred me all over the company because no one knew the answer.

Eventually I would reach someone who responded, "I don't know but I'll find out for you." They would take my name and phone number with a promise to call me back the next day with an answer.

No one every called me back. When I called that person back the next day, invariably they had no memory of our conversation the previous day and had not made any attempt to find an answer to my question. They said that they would take my name and phone number with a promise to call me back the next day with an answer.

They never called me back. And the process was repeated ad infinitum.

When I ordered things like filters, the woman taking the order had trouble with simple tasks like writing down my order. When my order never arrived, my calls to AireTex were answered with "What order?"

Once I ordered a very heavy part by part number. AirTex charge me $50 for shipping. When it arrived, it was the wrong part. Apparently the box had been labelled with the wrong part number -- so it was the correct part number on the box, but the wrong part was inside the box.

AireTex insisited that I pay for return shipping - $50 - and pay again for the correct part to be shipped back to me - $50 - for a grand total of $150 in shipping costs.

About a year later AireTex called me and insisted that I had never paid for anything and demanded to be paid again for the compressor and parts.

Do I need to continue, or do you have the idea?
