I have a few Aeris computers that I have used in the past to log my dives to my PC. I just bought a new Oceanic VT3 which comes with its own software. Can I somehow import my older Aeris dives into the Oceanic software so as to keep my diver record together? Thanks.

Unfortunately I don't think you can.
From what I've seen, the current oceanic/Aeris code
only allows importing of older 1.x logfiles into the newer 2.x
logfile. Currenly, you can't import data from
one 2.x Oceanic logfile to another 2.x Oceanic Logfile.

This is why if you travel with a laptop and use a desktop,
you have to make sure you copy the dabase files from the desktop
to the laptop while on the trip and back to the desktop
when you return. Otherwise, you will end up with 2 logfiles
that can't be merged.

I have noticed that the SampleDiver logfile that ships
with the latest Oceanlog 2.1.1 does have both Oceanic
and Aeris computers in one of the database tables.
So perhaps there is some secret mode in the Oceanic
code to turn on Aeris support. - Perhaps you could ask them
in the Oceanic Forum.

Assuming there was a secret "Aeris" mode inside the Oceanlog
code, it might allow downloading new dives, but you'd still have to
figure out how to get the aeris data from the aeris logfile into the
Oceanlog logfile.

My guess is it isn't possible.

I'm assuming you are wanting to pull in the data from
your Atmos2 and AtmosAI computers.

Your best bet may be to look at a 3rd party divelog package
that can import dive logs from a variety of dive computers,
from different manufacturers:
Oceanic, Aeris, Suunto, Mares, Uwatek, Apeks, etc...
For example: Scubase

This package will allow you import your dives from all your
existing dive logs into a single common dive log.
It has alot of cool graphs/charts, equipment tracking, expense
tracking, WEB page generation,
and it is completely user reconfigureable so you
can customize the data tracked, modify the screens and even
alter the printouts.

NOTE: You will still need the manufacturer supplied s/w
to actually download the DiveComputer. You then export
the data to be re-imported.

Going the 3rd party route will also allow you to switch to yet
a different computer by a different manufacturer
in the future and still keep using the same divelog.

Only draw back is you will lose your comments, pictures, &
gearbag stuff from your existing Aeris/Oceanic logfiles.
The current 2.x Oceanic/Aeris export only exports
the dive profile data so thats all that can be imported
by the 3rd party divelog s/w.

Thanks for the info, Bill. I put a post in the Oceanic forum as well.

Aeris has the option to export your dive logs in a delineated format to an Excel document. As long as your new software accepts imports in delineated format, most do, you should be golden.

Currently the "new" software he has is from Oceanic.
It seems that currently neither the Oceanic Oceanlog
or the Aeris ACI s/w can import their own export files.
