I just get a brand new Aeris Atmos 2 Wrist computer.
I push the front button and it goes to the diagnosis mode, from 9 to 0.
However, the battery indicator keeps blinking and shows an empty status. The light button on the side doesn't work, either.
After pushing both buttons several times for about one minute, it suddenly shows a full battery bar, no more blinking, and light button working. But, everytime I activate the computer, the same thing happens again.
Is there something I miss on this new machine? Is there any extra set up required before using it? I can't find any more info on the manual?
Please let me know if you have any previous experience like this.
Thanks in advance,
Edit: I don't doubt that our reliable LDS will stand behind this purchase though. I would like to get some more info before asking some action.
There does seem to be some condition that causes an Atmos 2 to falsely indicate a low battery condition. How you describe the computers behavior when in that mode is all in acordance with documentation IE blinking and backlight not working.
From my recollection of the problem, most who experienced it had it happen only occasionally. If it happens to you each time you power it up you might try removing the battery; let it sit for a few minutes and re-insert the battery.
I believe I recall that Aeris has acknowledged the issue.
My ebay Versa Pro also showed a low battery that would then jump back to full and there was some error in the depth readings. Turns out the battery was actually low because it died on me, but once I put in a new battery it started working great again and the depth errors went away.
I'd try replacing the battery first as there's no telling how old the battery is in that computer. I've seen brand new computers and even brand new batteries be either low or completely dead.
On going issue that doesn't seem to have been resolved. I got mine last week, turned it on and the battery icon flashed. Went through a couple of menus and all was well with the battery. Seems like changing menus is a good option.
I didn't know this issue at all... I only remember all applauses for this computer... LOL~~~~
Yes, it is the brand new and is less than 24 hours from the sealed plastic bag. The other unit seems to be ok, but only one unit shows this problem. So, I don't think all unit has the same issue.
What I am really worried about is the case when the com. is activated by water contact, not manual push button. Does it still work in that case? Any experience anybody?
