A friend has a Uwatec Aladdin Air computer that needs to have the battery replaced ($120). While having the battery replaced can this computer be upgraded to properly calculate stats for Nitrox? Is there a BIOS or other software upgrade? It is about 7 or 8 years old. It is air integrated and I know it will report on the pressure correctly, but the other stats would be based on regular air not nitrox.
The only company I know of that "upgrades" like that is Cochran.
If you like the AI, could you run the Aladdin and gauge and get a new, non-AI nitrox computer? Two computers, but it'd save you some $$ from getting an AI-nitrox.
There is no upgrade for the old Aladin Air computers. Other than battery changes, these computers are no longer supported. I would suggest he save the $120 and put it toward a nitrox computer.
