I just ordered the Varta 1/2AA 3.0 volt Lithium from thebatterybarn.com
I had sent them an email and they responded this morning. Here is my email and their response.
My email:
"I am looking for two Varta 3.0 volt 1/2AA Lithium batteries. Is the Varta 3 Volt Lithium CR 1/2AA battery listed on your homepage a 3.0 volt battery and not a 3.6 volt battery?
The reason I ask is that I need a 3 volt 1/2AA and so far I can only seem to find 3.6 volt 1/2AA batteries.
Their response:
Hi Art,
Yes, the Varta 1/2AA battery that we sell is a 3 volt battery. I have the link below for you to order them and we have them in stock. Thank you.
I just received the Varta CR 1/2AA 3V Lithium batteries from thebatterybarn.com in Virginia. Looks like we now have a source for the right batteries for the Vytec transmitter. The US distributor for Suunto (Aqualung) was of little help in that they told me that the Varta number for the battery was 0601. My new batteries have the number 0302 on them suggesting that this number is actually the date of manufacture. In addition, the folks at Aqualung said I had to order them through a local dealer. My local dealer had no part number or price for them.
I now have spares for my trip next week to Palau and Truk.
FYI to anyone needing the Vytec Transmitter Battery...You can find an exact replacement for the Varta CR1/2AA at you local Interstate Battery (used to be Battery Patrol) It is part number LIT2330, I just got two, they were 6.99 each.
I most fortunately came across this thread while looking for a replacement battery for my Vyper Air, tank transmitter battery. Just ordered two from the above link, thank you!!!
