    Thanks everyone for all of the replies (especially the algorithm tables).

    I'm still a bit confused in the extreme price differences between several computers that seemingly have the same features but its nothing I can't sort through on my own.

    Some companies tend to think that their computers are made out of gold and coated with platinum. Also, brand new models naturally cost more than older models because they need to recoupe the cost of research, development, marketing and manufacturing.
