ScubaDadMiami:

Hmm.. Does the bungeed Stinger work well both on a bare wrist and also on a drysuit over a 400g Thinsulate undergarment? At the least I would think it will be a little strange to wear as an everyday watch.

I second the X-straps. I and many others around me use the X-strap with their Stinger and like them. Great for wearing over both thick exposure protection and a bare wrist.

RAN:
what did you replace it with?

I also use the Waterborne strap on my Stinger. Works GREAT! I only use a 3mm suit now, but Im sure it fits on a 7mm. A while ago, it saved a Seiko dive watch during a haneous shore dive in St Croix. I got to shore (after 3 Urchin pricks) and saw my watch hanging by one pin - saved...by the Waterborne.

Never lost a pin, but my Stinger is on a Waterbourne strap - just in case.

I used the ss suunto band works fine...I just dont trust the mounting pins just my 2 cents
