Is there any dive computer out there that can interface with a machintosh computer? I'd really like to get either a stinger or a nemo but from the looks of it they only interface with PCs (and ones with serial ports at that!?!) Can anyone give me any options here? Is there anyway either one of these 2 computers interface with my mac?

There are no dive computers out there that can transfer data directly to a Mac right out of the box. You could try using Virtual PC.

ps I’m using Oceanic’s OceanLog on my PowerBook G4 (OS 10.2.8) with Virtual PC for Mac 7

My wife has a mosquito that she connects to a 12" iBook via Virtual PC. It's a bit pricey, but it allows you to use Suunto's software.

She picked up an interface cable on e-bay from someone in Japan for about $30 (includes shipping), and it worked great.

Overall it's not the most desired solution, but it works.

I was afraid ot was going to be something like that. thanks for the info. I guess it's time to go shopping for Virtual PC for Mac first then go get a dive computer.

What cable do you need for the mosquito is it a serial to usb adaptor? Will I need the same cable for the stinger?

Someone has written a program that interfaces with several brands of computers, all through your native mac interface. I'll see if I can find it.......

Thanks everyone. I'm sure that I speak for all mac users out there when I say I love my mac and going back to a pc is so not an option :D
