I opened my battery compartment on my Dacor Darwin computer and found two corroded batteries. What is the best way to clean out the battery compartment? Alcohol and Q-tips? Any suggestions?

to dissolve salt, my computer man. says to rinse it in diluted vinegar/water solution, but that is for the outside

It says to have it serviced if water gets inside, good advice I'd say, especially if that's the only way you have of indicating your depth

It's not salt, it just from the batteries. I scraped the corrosion out and cleaned it with q-tips and rubbing alcohol. New batteries and it's working again. I still think I'll bring it by the shop and let them check it out just to be safe.
