Octoberfest

I read in this month's edition of Sport Diver that PADI, Sand Dollar Sports, and the Reef Club Cozumel are hosting their annual Octoberfest during the week of October 22 thru 29.

Unfortunately or fortunately depending on the replies to this post, my wife and I and four other family members are booked in the vacation club portion of the Reef Club that same week. We are/were planning to dive with Sand Dollar for six days. In fact, we thought we had reserved a 6-pack for the week, but now they are somewhat backtracking because the shop person who took the request wasn't aware of Octoberfest.

My question--is this Octoberfest a big deal in Cozumel or is it just a promotion by Reef Club and Sand Dollar that is limited primarily to them? Do other dive operators get heavily booked during this time frame as well?

Octoberfest is only at The Reef Club, and they do it very well!
You will still be able to dive & lead a "normal" vacation life at The Reef Club, we have all of the Octoberfest nightly activities AFTER the regular resort activities, in an effort not to interfere families etc..
Keep talking to them at Sand Dollar (good people - talk to Paula - she is VERY efficient!!) on your 6 pack reservation, and see if she can help you. The only thing we (my husband & myself) have to do with the event is we produce/run the U/W photo & digital imaging contest during Octoberfest, so I cannot speak FOR Sand Dollar concerning your diving, but at least I can give you who to speak to there!!!! Hope this helps!
