OK, I know - just what we need is one more thread on this mess. Maybe we can just keep this one for pics?

I know that there will be a LOT of them coming in as tourists are finally starting to make it home.

Here are 2 good links I know of:

Thanks Lisa for bringing the 1st one to my attention, there are a lot of pics on that one...

The top one is best so far....truely amazing. I don't think ANYONE ever imagined a Cat 4/5 hurricane would STALL out over Cuzmel for so long. :( From what I know of Gilbert, even though it was slow moving, it didn't come to a complete halt!

Thanks for the pics. With all the pics I gather total recovery could take 3-6 months. However, in a month a lot should change. All the big hotels should be open in a month or two.

From the looks for it, doesn't look like our cruise ship will be stopping over after Thanksgiving. Well, there is always next year for some diving.

A person would certainly think that, give the condition of the piers, I have read several places that government officials expect to have the cruise ships start visiting Cozumel again on November 20. I hope they will start off slowly with only a couple of ships a day. The passengers will probably have to tender ashore. Hopefully they will all have their pockets loaded with money to spend in Cozumel. Some many people depend on the cruisers for their employment.

Wow....It's worse than I thought. The whole place is trashed.
