Anyone have any idea how to set this up? We will be in Coz and are wondering if one dive shop does this or if you have to arrange travel back and forth yourself and go with Pro-tec or something like that?

Talk to your dive shop about this when you get there or in advance if you can. If they do not have their on cave/cavern guide, they can set you up with someone.

I strongly urge you to contact THE cave diving authority* in Cozumel, German Yañes of Yucatech Expeditions. He has more experience/dives/certifications than anyone else in Cozumel OR the mainland http://www.yucatech.net/ do not mistake them for a copy-cat operation in Playa called Yucatek.

Call or email German, he is the best cave guide/Instructor in the Yucatan. You meet him in Cozumel, and he takes it from there.

*Read up on German: http://yucatech.net/staff.html

Note: unless you are cave certified, you can only dive in the "cavern" sections, where there is natural light and no overhead cave, minimum requirement is Open Water.

We had a great experience with Dennis (Diablo Divers www.diablodivers.com) earlier this month. He is very thorough with his breifings, gear check, bouyancy check and finning skills needed to enjoy the cavern dive. He takes only a max of 4 divers. We did a dive in two different cenotes and had a nice relaxing lunch in between. We've done cenote dives before at Hidden Worlds and with a private guide, but the day with Dennis really topped our previous cenote experiences.
