Thanks to some great information on this forum myself and 11 friends had a great time diving in Cozumel last week with Aldora Divers (http://www.aldora.com/). Our 14 dives included Devils Throat and cenote dives at dos ojos.

It was our first time in Cozumel so I don't know how much damage Wilma did, but I can say that we had a great time and saw some amazing things. We will be back!

I like your photos as well. What settings were you using? What mode? What about WB? Manual? Underwater? Flourescent? I've just got a Canon A series and will be taking it to tropical waters in just ten (10) count 'em 10 days. I'd be happy to get such clear shots. Do share all of your secrets...

Any pictures of Dos Ojos Cenote?

94GTStang: I'll try to post more, haven't had time to go through all of them.

RikRaeder: No secrets, I'm a beginner at this. I set the dial to 'SCN' (scene) and selected 'underwater' on the LCD menu. That's it! The real secret is the incredibly clear water in Cozumel. Someday I'll invest in a proper external flash (strobe) so I can bring out more color in the shots, but for now I love the fact that I can stash the camera in my BCD pocket when I'm done with it.

Paco: I wasn't confident enough to pull out the camera at Dos Ojos (my first dive in that type of environment). I think the built in flash would have only brought out the silt anyway (it was very dark!).

Hmmmmmm so what they are saying is true based upon your first pic! Sand......sand sand, all over the place!!!!!!! The truth comes out!

13X,

Great, clear shots! I happened to have found an add-on for Adobe Photoshop (version 7.0 or higher) that restores the reds that are lost at depth. I "corrected" the photos of the nurse shark, and the diver near the wreck, to show you what this fix can do. I didn't do any tweaking of the color, brightness, or contrast, but I've also done that after correcting the blue out. If you have any use for it, PM me and I'll email you the info. I did them as attachments, because I still can't figure out how to add photos to the body of a post. Click on the thumbnails to see a bigger version.
