Does anyone know if the dock is operational at Hotel Cozumel & Resort? I believe it's back open, but wanted to confirm.

Yes, it is. I received an email from someone who just returned and they were picked up daily at the CP pier for dives. There are pictures of it on this website:

I also pulled this from a TripAdvisor hotel review just posted. I know of one more that should show up today or tomorrow with more pictures.

"We went snorkeling and diving right there in front of the hotel. I'm sure the coral was better before the hurricane but it was still fun. The later part of the week we had a dive boat pick us up at the pier on the property so it was very convienent."

We will be there May 13-20 so have been looking for reports as well. All have been very positive so far.

Duh...after posting I realized it said Hotel Cozumel and not Cozumel Palace. Guess I'm too anxious already.

Everything at the Hotel Cozumel is fully functional. I was there in March.

It was all good in February too...

I'm heading to Hotel Cozumel in about a month. Any advice on rooms or anything else that may be helpful?

I'll be diving with Dive Paradise...

Thanks all,

Scott

Dood,

Hotel Cozumel was the first pier to be operational!!!

I was there in December 2005 and January 2006. They have new sand as of January 2006, also.

The rooms in Hotel Cozumel are nothing extravagant or luxurious, but they were clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Our room was on the ocean side overlooking the courtyard and Dive Paradise. The room had two full/queen beds (one for sleeping, and the other for... laying stuff out on). The bathrooms were on the smaller side but again nothing of concern. Our room had a safe in the closet, which was big enough for camera gear, and all of our other goodies.

On the balcony, there were pegs for hanging gear and bars for hanging wetsuits, etc. We did find it easiest to rinse our gear at Dive Paradise in the tubs there and then just hang it up back at the hotel.

All in all, we were quite happy with Hotel Cozumel and would stay there again.

Dive PAradise is convenient wherever you stay. THere will be large groups of people at the pier at Hotel Cozumel in the mornings. Nothing to be perturbed about. However, I am assuming Hotel Baracuda will have it's pier up and running (as of March 2006? cause it was poured in late December 2005). Dive Paradise will pick you up earlier at whatever hotel you stay at, especially if you have booooked fast boats. Check with Dive Paradise first.

I stayed at Hotel Cozumel in Aug 2005. It is nice. Great big pool!
