Hello all, Hope everyone is having a great summer. Could anyone tell me when Carnival 2007 will be held this year? I have always had a great time down there during this festive event.

Carnival is latin America's equivalent of Mardi Gras and it revolves around lent. This is a very Catholic holiday.
Fat Tuesday is always the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday and is the grand finale for Carnival...the BIG event. In 2007, Ash Wednesday is on February 21, so Fat Tuesday on February 20.
The main Carnival events and parades start the weekend before Fat Tuesday.
Carnival is the businest time on the island besides Christmas and books up fast and early. This is considered peak season. Not only is it a big deal for American/Canadian tourists...people come from all over Mexico for it. Cozumel has a famous Carnival celebration.
Also be prepared to pay more for hotel rooms, especially if staying downtown on the waterfront.
