Thumbs up Dive with Martin/Cozumel trip report and new gear report.

Just returned from my 10th trip to Cozumel last night and I can say with certainty it was by far my best trip ever! Was there most recently in April and this trip surpassed that one.

We did 15 dives in 6 days with Dive with Martin. Operation was first rate! I have dove with Dive Paradise, Aqua Safari, and Deportes Aquaticos in the past and by far I will dive with DWM from now on. Excellent Dive OP and DM'S especially Orlando.

All dives were from 50-70 minutes and depths from shallows of Columbia shallows 25 feet to the deepest of Punta Sur at 140 feet. We did 2 decompression dives at Punta Sur and Barracuda for 5 and 7 minutes.

Every dive was filled with plenty of marine life and great currents especially fast were Barracuda and San Juan! Really flew on those dives. Columbia was not so good this trip as current was in all directions and made for a difficult dive. My dad had an integrated weight pouch drop at 90 feet and had to do an emergency assent which was scary!

DWM always took us where we wanted to go and enjoyed the fast boats for every dive with no more than 6 total divers everyday. Great value at $305 a person for 6 days of diving with free video and night dive.

Took us over to Playa Del Carmen for the turtles and tarpon dive where in 1 hour we saw 25 turtles and 25 tarpon.

Stayed at Hotel Cozumel and resort for the 4th time and as always the stay was great and the food was excellent. We even got a 4 lobster tail dinner for free for breakfast starting late a few days.

Over our 6 days we saw 4 nurse sharks, 1 black tip, 40 turtles, 25 eagle rays, 4 octopus, about a hundred lobster, 6 large crabs, and the usual reef fish which are by far in greater numbers since the hurricane.

One woman on our night dive said her husband had to spend 5 hours in the chamber for DCS. She said his computer did not show anything but he is very overweight and must not get rid of nitrogen well enough.

First trip in Salt-water with all new gear except my Suunto Stinger.

Zeagle Brigade was awesome!!! Perfect fit and excellent BC!
Genesis OZ Titanium reg and octo...perfect!
Cressi-Sub Big Eyes was a dream in black!

SP Jets are the only fins I will ever own again!!!! Never owned fins in 25 years that never gave me foot cramps. They are a dream come true!!!

Had an excellent time and will be back with DWM in the very near future!

    Will post underwater pictures soon.....

    Dive boat...
    Orlando...
    Me and my dad...
Peter and Inga from Belgium..awesome couple we dove with...hope to dive with them in the future..

Great trip report. Looking forward to seeing the UW photos. Would you recommend DWM for new divers as well as experienced?

Yes we had some new divers with only 8 dives and they did very well to accommodate them.

I'm guessing you mean "stops" and not "dives", right?

Yes, I really thought Dive with Martin was great also. Easy going but have it together. Very accomodating! Glad you had so much fun! Great images. Great fast smallboats, perfect for Coz and drift pick-ups.
