Well, I haven't been to Solomon Islands...although they're on my list...but I would/will go back to Fiji in a heartbeat the first chance I have
Check out the Solomons closly. I was planning a trip to the Solomons/Fiji in late November after I got back from Raja Ampat in October. I was going to do the Bilikiki and then Uepi. Then to Fiji for a few days on my way back. After I got back from Layang Layang in Malaysia in April and being very dissapointed in the diving due to commercial fishing in the area....well I found out the Solomons has commercial fishing and the people I had been talking to had only dove Malaysia or Australia. When I found a couple of people who had dove the Solomons, Palau and Raja Ampat...they gave me the thumbs down on the Solomons. Thus I canceled the trip!
Now after Ann's PM and your report....taking a second look at doing an LOB on the Bligh Water maybe next year!
No...No problem I would of missed it if it was not for ParrotheadDiver as I would be looking in the Pacific Islands forum for Fiji trip reports....This report is excellent and changing my mind about going to Fiji!
Yeah we may re name this forum the Coz/Fiji forum....Christi put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into this trip to make it happen and the Cozumel Forum posters have been ever so patient with us chatting about this trip before and after plus a lot of posters here know Christi....Scott glad you checked it out.....and hope to see you in Cozumel sometime....if not Fiji stay tuned for a possible trip report in the Pacific Islands Forum

I've got a Caribbean soul I can barely control and some Texas hidden here in my heart. JB
Keep the Fiji chatter coming as long as you want all. It is so wonderful to at least hear about all of the exciting things from the trip. Unfortunately, DH can get a bit too queasy on rocking boats and we just can't take the chance of a liveaboard. So, we feel fortunate to know know our Cozumel Peeps will keep us in the loop. I was worried about getting sea sick too, but I got a prescription for Scopace (pill form of the patch most people use) and it worked like a charm. I never had even a hint of sea sickness (thank goodness).

While I didn't make this trip with Christie and "the gang", I've been to Fiji 3 times in 5 years and yes yes yes it is everything as special as what people here are saying.
I'd rather skip 3 trips to the caribbean and go balls out for costs and flight time incurred to do Fiji again.
and again.
and again.
The people there are so friendly, and the diving so mind blowing with abundant fish and corals, you won't believe what you're seeing even during a dive.
Good for everyone who got to experience it for their first time. Next trip for us would be south of the main fiji island to Kandavu island and the astroglobe reef, smack dab in the middle and first in line for all the upwelling nutrient rich currents of Fiji.

Even when you climbed the mast to the crow's nest!!
