She spent a couple days waiting for the plane, then left Coz with Hurricane Dean closing in, woke up finally in Miami. It does happen, albeit quite rarely. All studies inconclusive. Now a snorkeler only.
What Padi is saying is that however unlikely, the bends can happen with no apparent reason anytime, and it's been happening a lot more frequently to those that have done a second or third deep dive in the same day even if the later dives are spaced out enough for the computer to say you've offloaded enough nitrogen. I have a feeling that on rare occasions maybe nitrogen can still be trapped in places that take a few more hours to escape than is normally factored into the tables and the computers.

I want to thank everyone here for their tips/advice. I took some time to research computers/lights/ and knives. I went diving this last weekend at Catalina Island, CA. did three dives one day using the dive tables. assessment = Computer needed. Well, .......after much research I purchased the Suunto Gekko dive computer, (has not arrived yet), but downloaded the manual, (70 pages), and read it thru and thru. also purchased a good little knive, (gotting me thinking after getting tangled up in fishing line around my fins), fortunately I had purchased and brought a good pair of shearers and cut the line away very easily. Still shears + knive might be a good combo. Also decided a nice light was in order after poking around cracks/crevices, under ledges and such.
Went with a UK SL4 eLED after much reasearch decided this would be my best option at my price range and planned use. Anyway, heading back for another boat dive next weekend to Catalina to try out the new "puter" and start getting comfortable with it. Getting some practice time, (dives), in and then it's off to COZ in October, (hopefully 10 days).

Nice light. You're not supposed to carry a knife in Coz, but some do.
You can test the tanks you breathe or - dive on hope.

Dive tool. It is the UK Remora 3" Blunt tip. Probably never use the thing, attach to BC and have it if ever needed. Now for the fun stuff of booking airlines and the resort again. More on this later........

Yeah, lots of empty scabbards around scubaland from such. I've got one. Now carry mine deep in my BC pocket. As far as rules, they say no knives - but not enforced much.

Let me know the dates if you'd like help shopping flights and hotels.

I think they have had some difficulties updating their web pages, but these prices are current I think: blueangel-scuba.com Taxes are additional, which was left off of the page. I think hotel taxes are 12% and dive taxes 10%.

For a week, you'd be looking in the neighborhood of, plus extra dive trips and taxes...
    PACKAGE 'B'
    7 NIGHTS / 5 DAYS OF DIVING
    (2 TANK BOAT DIVES)
    UNLIMITED COMPLEMENTARY SHORE DIVES
    GEAR STORAGE AVAILABLE
    $650.00
Per diver based on double occupancy!!!
Breakfast is included every morning; lunch every dive day.

I was there alone in March and didn't go into town for dinner much because of the cab fares. Dinners were super @ $14.

    Nevis Diver,

7 nights lodging, 6 days of 2 tank boat dives, breakfast every day, lunch on dive days, 1 dinner included, 3 free afternoon boat dives, unlimited shore diving. Came to $1434 plus taxes, which brought it to somewhere around $1600. This was for two divers.

    Blue Steal,

Unless you are planning on doing four dives a day, take that $100 you are going to spend on a Nitrox course, and the $50 you will spend on your first five tanks of Nitrox, and buy a bottom of the line computer. In the long run I think you will get much more bottom time with the computer model vs the Dive Tables. I have not looked lately, but have often seen the bottom line, air only computers, going for about $149 at various on-line shops like Scubatoys or Leisurepro.
    Only my 2 cents,

    blue steal,

Wow, somebody actually took my advice. Good Luck.

Maybe I will run into you in October. I am going to be there the 13 to the 22nd. Will be going it alone this time and have not yet decided where to stay.

    P.S.
One more piece of advice; You have got to try the strawberry margs at Blue Angel. They are so refreshing after a day of diving.
