A few years ago a friend of the family staying at the same hotel as us ran out of Cokes for his Cuba Libres, so he flagged a taxi and told the cabbie what he wanted. The driver said "si, no problema" and promptly took off into the back streets of town. Some clarification was required. :D

All my wife drinks in the states is diet coke. Been going to Cozumel for the last 4 years. Coke at least diet coke (coke light in MX) is a lot sweeter tasting than their counter part in the states. Pepsi is the same but found it less expensive and not as sweet.

If I remember this correctly some of the Coke in Cozumel (usually in glass bottles) is the original CLASSIC Coke made with real caramel instead of man made caramel.

Our local Costco just started offering "Mexican Coke" by the case. It'd be awfully amusing to find that there was no difference. I have to admit, it tastes better to me as well in Coz, but perhaps it's just an awesome flavor when dealing with that heat and humidity.

ABSOLUTELY. (the NON synthetic or genetically modified trees.)

Cane sugar and high fructose corn syrup are not the same quality as a sweetner. Neither is beet sugar vs cane sugar.

It used to be the Domino's Pizza you called for delivery of marching dust. The manager, Puuc, got crossways with the local police and they shut his operation down.
