OK, I'm convinced. I won't bother with the Great Blue Hole in Belize by itself. I dove the Blue Hole in the Red Sea near Dahab, Egypt. It was very cool, although there wasn't a lot to see there either. That one is definitely worth doing when in the area, partly because it's a shore dive
If you really want to dive "blue holes" go on the Nekton liveaboard trip to Cay Sal Bank or Medio Reef in the Bahamas. Very cool blue holes, full of life and easy to dive! Some are full of sharks, some are full of fish, some are covered with growth, some are bare but lots of swimthroughs....

Did the Belize Blue Hole from the Agressor. It was an interesting dive (to 148 feet), but not something I'd come a great distance to do by itself. I enjoyed the reef life on the rest of the trip more. If I do the Belize Agressor again, I'll include the Blue Hole another time. Otherwise, I wouldn't miss it.
