We stayed onshore for Cozumel.

In Belize, decided to use SeaSports Belize. This is a short (< 10 minute) walk outside the "cruise ship area". We were very pleased with DM John who gave us a bit of history on the way to our first dive site, Gallows Point, ~ a 30-minute ride. Our surface interval was spent at a fish camp on an island owned by a gentleman who stated it had been in his family for 4 generations. Our 2nd dive site was JNP (?) where saw spotted eagle ray and several turtles. Water temp was 83 with visibility ~50'. We were told that 3 weeks previous, Belize had experienced heavy rainfall.

In Roatan, we decided to use Barefoot Divers. This required a taxi ride (~ 10 minutes) and ran $20 each way. Our DMs Greg and Tony took good care of us. The dive sites, Menagerie, was also less than a 10-minute boat ride. Due to the short boat ride, our surface interval was spent back at Barefoot Cay. As we prepared for our 2nd dive, at Lita Hole, we noticed we were essentially diving in the channel where our cruise ship had come in. Water temp again was 83 with visibility a little better at ~ 75'.

We wore a 2-3 mm wetsuit which provided good warmth.
