Title says it all. Interested in going to the dark side. Live in Pittsburgh. Where can I find a place for instruction?

Just from checking the instructor lists, Bob Sherwood may be the closest instructor to you. On the other hand, many GUE instructors will come to you to teach, if you can get enough people together for a class.

I am also interested in a GUE-F class and am in the Pittsburgh area. Is this the beginning of a trend? Any others, so we can make a class happen soon?

And the two interested posters should PM each other. It's easier to get a class together when there are already students ready to take it.

Ed Hayes (Scubashack CT.) has one starting October 3rd in Dutch Springs... Not sure of the logistics, etc.. but the GUE web site says 5 are already registered..
You can call Ed @ (860) 563-0119

I contacted Ed Hayes the other day and had a fantastic discussion with him. The class at Dutch Springs isn't going to work for me, but I was considering traveling to CT to train. However, if we had enough people interested and can get him or another GUE instructor to set up a class with us, that would be even better!

I did my GUE-F with Ed. Great, great guy (and instructor!). Doing the class in CT (Brownstone QuarrY) has a lot of benefits.

I started another thread prior to seeing this one. I have already signed up with Bob Sherwood July 10 - 13 @ Dutch Springs. I am also in Pittsburgh. I bet Bob would come here if we had enough people but I don't know where we'd go for practice. Strawberry Quarry would be restricted and not the best environment.
