    DIR Australia

    Guys,

I have been doing some reasearch on DIR and it all seems to be making sense to me. It is although difficult to get on a course here in Melb, Aust. Although some have been planned over the next few months, I clash with all the dates .

Anyway my question is I am undertaking the PADI Open Water and Adv Open Water over the next few weeks. Then moving to a two week scuba holiday in the asian region. I do not own any equipment at the moment and was wondering if anyone was aware of a dive shop etc. in Melb that would understand and supply me with equipment at reasonable prices with reference to DIR eg. jetfins etc...

Any help on where to buy in Melb or what kit to get to establish a basis to move to DIR scuba would be greatly appreciated. Immeadiate requirement is fins, mask, snorkel for PADI course, boots for fins to suit dry/wet suit or both. Not expecting to be diving dry suit until more experiance and winter sets in (some time away).

As far as DIR-F is concerned you could do your holiday in the Philippines and take it with Martin Lorenzo http://www.wedt.org/ , the local DIR-F instructor.... That way you get some diving, training and a holiday in all at the same time. They have classes at Tech Asia http://asiadivers.com/tech/ in Puerto Gallera... The next one is in March I think

    Brilliant!!

I am taking the holiday in Puerto Gallera (booked the flights today) so I will definatly take this up given correct dates n' stuff.
Checked the sites out but the don't seem to have the actual days posted there so I will email them for a better picture.

    Oh and Cros,

Thanks for the heads up I will check out DIS in Ringwood, just looked at their website and looks like they have pretty much all that I'll need

Before you start on a buying spree ask around for other DIR divers in your area and start talking to an/a instructor... this might help with the buyers remorse

I also like this site as far as gear goes http://www.bitz.fsnet.co.uk/index.htm
