The vision behind DNY is a simple one, to create a friendly community of people with the same passion for diving, fun and information. It has been said that New Yorkers are a cold, rude bunch and to that end DNY has proven them wrong. My larger vision is to bring that same spirit of community and fun to the diving population/Scubaboard as a whole. We have become a group that is looked up to and is admired for all that we bring to the table and share with others, our knowledge, experience, craziness and open arms. We have succeded as evidenced by the geographies and good times had by our friends and members.
Now for the Policy...
In the spirit of keeping DNY a "fun" place to hang and dive, It is now neccessary to spell out a few things so that all are clear.
YOU ARE ALL representatives of DiveNY/ScubaBoard and as such should be proud as well as aware of what you say and do. Many people, especially noobs and guests look up to us and our group for guidance, support, information and fun.
Inappropriate behavior of ANY kind will not be tolerated. Be it in our forum or any other. If you do not know why, read back 1 paragraph.
What constitutes "inappropriate" behavior? I'm glad you asked,
Stalking, Harassing, Dog Piling, Verbal Attacking, Maliciously Stirring The Pot, Violating SB TOS, I think you get the idea. Besides only a coward hides behind a keyboard.
We have 3 mods to help with any situation that arises. We are all supposedly adults here, let us continue as such. If you have an issue with someone take it to PM or a Mod for help in resolution. Keep it out of the public space!!
It is not fair to the rest of our members/friends/board to bring things down, create drama, or shoot your mouth off elsewhere. If You Can Not Play Nice, want to create problems, can't follow the rules, then keep on moving by and out.
