I can email a PDF file of the US Navy Diving Manual to anyone who would like it. It worked on my ipad but I do not know if it will work on a Kindle. If there is anyone interested in military history or world war two Panzer Leader by General Heinz Guderian is one of the best books you will find on the subject. This was written from the point of view of a professional soldier in the German army, not a Nazi. This is as close to an objective view that you will get from inside the Third Reich.
Learning is easy but understanding takes time.

"Clan Of The Cave Bear" by Jean M Auel
a story about a young girl, injured, and alone taken in by a clan of people we know today as Neanderthals, but she is one from the "others" , and with all the problems that brings to her fitting in .. a tale of a strong woman, 35,000 years ago, and populated vividly by Auel with facts and insight .. Creb , was based on a Neanderthal grave that was uncovered that showed a crippled man that was cared for and was buried with possible flowers indicated by pollen found inside
    ... http://www.amazon.com/Clan-Cave-Bear.../dp/0553381679
Jean M Auel .. Jean M. Auel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

and so all the other 5 books in that series are worth reading .. I have them all (the Outlander series I mentioned before was recommended to me me by someone who also knew of this series)

I do not recall the title, but years ago I read a novel by a German soldier in WWII, not a general, but a regular army recruit.
It really put a face on the guy in the other uniform. I particularly remember the comment when he was returning from the Eastern theater, when he witness an officer being demoted for losing his field glasses, so he proudly displayed the fact that he still had all the rifle shells he was supplied with, but his supperiors were less than thrilled. Another time he told the story: somehow during a retreat he ended up carrying a Russian weapon when he lost his own, and how the German army was so desperate for heroes, they pinned a medal on him as if he had actually stormed an enemy position to acquire the weapon, rather than grabbing it in desperation as he was fleeing.
I wish I could recall the title and author.

When my kids were younger we not only read her entire series, except the last which was not then in print yet, but we listened to the series on audio tape.

The Harry Potter series is also quite a good read, if there is anyone who has not yet read it. THAT series was the only thing that finally convinced my son Morgan that reading was worthwhile. THAT was an expensive series for me, as every release I was buying two or three hardcovers, plus the audio disc set, as we loved both listening and reading that particular story over and over.

I also tend to pick up Clive Cussler's books, as there is always something dive or wreck related within his story.

After I read Lincoln Lawyer by Micheal Connelly, I then read all of his books. Just good escape reads, with some unexpected twists and turns.

How could I possibly forget the classic: "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams

"One Thursday lunchtime the Earth is unexpectedly demolished to make way for a new hyperspace bypass. For Arthur Dent, who has only just had his house demolished that morning, this seems already to be more than he can cope with. Sadly, however, the weekend has only just begun, and the galaxy is a very strange and startling place".

    Thanks for all the Fish,

    Henrik
