This particular case is lead acid cells in a silent submerge scooter. I have the same in my mako.
The man selling the units here is trying to get customers to buy a balancer to equalize the charging current to the two 12v gel cell batteries.
I told him it sounds like a waste of money to me but was searching for a professional opinion.
