App name: My Nitroxbuddy
App download: Google Play

To use this App you need an Android device equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 low energy technology and Android 4.3.
Additionally, the App supports some proprietary BLE libraries (Samsung Galaxy S3 and S4, HTC One Motorola Droid Razr) with some limitations. See Smartphones Compatibility Ratings below.

Smartphones Compatibility Ratings

Please note that since support for Bluetooth 4.0 is now available directly in the Android OS (version 4.3 and higher), we do NO LONGER support proprietary BLE libraries.
The ones still included in the App are AS IS.

If you have not yet done so, we strongly recommend you upgrade your Android smartphone to 4.3.

Android (4.3) BLE library
Known Phones: All Bluetooth 4.0 compatible Android smartphones and tablets using Android 4.3
Rating: 9/10
Issues:
- In rare circumstances, can refuse to connect to Nitroxbuddy until the phone is restarted.

Samsung 4.2 BLE library
Known Phones: Samsung Galaxy S4
Rating: 8/10
Issues:
- First time accessing scanning screen, scan cannot be started automatically.
- Scans do not time out automatically, you must manually stop them by leaving the scan screen.
- Restarting the Nitroxbuddy device during a scan causes scans to fail until the app is restarted.

Samsung 4.1 BLE library
Known Phones: Samsung Galaxy S3 and Note 2
Rating: 3/10
Issues:
- Bluetooth adapter sometimes deadlocks, causing the phone to restart.
- Certain forms of communication are extremely slow.
- Requests a security PIN during connection even though Nitroxbuddy does not use one. Enter "0" to bypass this screen.

Rating: 3/10
Issues:
- Often difficult to establish a connection with Nitroxbuddy device.
