If you are a scientific diver now you can use the My bluebuddy for iPhone App, together with a bluebuddy wireless data logger, to submit your dive logs to your Diving Safety Officer via our DSO cloud.
No more paperwork!

In order to use the Scientific Diving mode of the My bluebuddy App you need to enable it first: go to the logbook section of the settings and turn the Scientific Diving switch ON.

Then tap on it and set the default values for the various AAUS (American Academy of Underwater Sciences) options.

You also need to make sure that the bluebuddy has a device name and that you have entered into the device your name too as those information will be used by your Diving Safety Officer to create the AAUS report.

Now, when you look at a log of a dive you will see that there is a new AAUS section pre-populated with the values you defined in the settings. If you want to change any of the AAUS items, just tap on it and select the new value.

Another AAUS item you might need to set is the "Incident" flag.

OK. Time to report the log to the DSO.
Just tap on share ..... and then tap on the "Upload to DSO cloud" icon

If your bluebuddy is already authorized to report logs to the DSO cloud, you will see a screen showing the Organization and the Group to which the bluebuddy is associated with.
Tap on the name of the group and then tap on "Upload" .......

.... and your log will be sent to your Diving Safety Officer via the DSO cloud

If your bluebuddy is not yet authorized to report logs to the DSO cloud the App will tell you so....

In order to be able to upload a log to the DSO cloud, a device needs to be authorized first by a DSO.
You can do this in 2 ways: either you just hand over your bluebuddy to your DSO and s/he will use the DSOpal App to authorize it, or you make a request via the DSO cloud.
Here how it works.
Go to Settings, scroll down to Device Management and tap on Paired Devices .... then tap on the icon of the bluebuddy you want to use with the DSO cloud, fill in all the required fields and then tap on "Submit Request".....

.... and wait until your DSO approves your request.
