In this brief tutorial we will give you an overview of Smartphone Dive Computer (aka SDC) app, we will show the various settings and the operating modes.

The SDC app has 2 main operating modes: Open Mode and Action Mode.
The default mode is the Action Mode.

You can use the Open Mode only when the underwater housing is open (make sure you are in a dry place before opening the housing  )

You can use the Open Mode to access the various settings, manage the Logbook, Dive Sites, Dive Maps and Album.

To enter the Open Mode from the Action Mode, just tap on the DiveNav logo....

Once you are in Open Mode, just tap on CLOSE to return to the Action Mode

The Action Mode is for .... ACTION!

Most of the times you will be using the Action Mode when the smartphone is inside the housing and as such the interaction with the App is limited by the few buttons supported by the housing brand/model you are planning to use.
The exception to this is when using the simulated sensor. We will discuss this later.

The Action Mode has 4 sub-modes:

Camera Only

Dive Gauge

Air Computer

Nitrox Computer

To select any of those 4 sub-modes, go to Open Mode, tap on Operating Mode and then select the mode you would like to use.

Please note that in order to use the Gauge, Air Computer or Nitrox Computer you need to have a Smart Dive Buddy sensor (or enable its simulator).
Lastly, you need a proper license to enable the Air Computer or the Nitrox Computer modes.
