Smartphone Dive Computer App - Scuba Dive Computer mode

If you set the SDC App in Scuba Dive Computer mode, then your smartphone becomes an advanced recreational dive computer.

In addition to all the features available in Gauge mode, now SDC includes some specific features available in advanced recreational dive computers.

While in Scuba Dive Computer mode, the App has several sub-modes:

• Combo
  Compass
  Dive Profile
  Nitrogen Loading
  Dive Maps

Before you can use SDC in the Scuba Dive Computer mode you need to pair your smartphone with a Smart Dive Buddy sensor (or you can use the sensor simulator). Check this post to see how to pair the sensor.


Combo sub-mode

While in Combo sub-mode, the SDC App behaves as a dive camera with an integrated advanced recreational dive computer.

Similar to the Gauge mode, in Combo mode while taking pictures / shooting videos you will be able to see your current depth, water temperature and dive time.
Also, any picture taken during the dive will automatically be associated to the log of that dive.

In addition to the Gauge mode, in Combo mode SDC includes additional indicators such as Dive Time Remaining, Nitrogen Loading and Ascent Rate.
Additionally, the function of button 2 is different; now, if you hold button 2 SDC enters the Compass sub-mode.

Lastly, while in Combo sub-mode, the SDC App displays warning or alarms related to the specific situation.

Compass sub-mode

To enter the Compass sub-mode just HOLD Button 2 while in Combo sub-mode.

While in Compass sub-mode, the camera is disabled and the SDC App behaves as a dedicated advanced recreational dive computer with an integrated digital compass.

In addition to the Combo sub-mode, in Compass sub-mode SDC includes additional indicators such as Maximum Depth, Average Depth, Navigation Timer, Current Bearing and the Digital Compass itself.

The Digital Compass is tilt compensated, uses the 9-Axis sensor built in into the smartphone and included some features specifically designed for underwater navigation such as Guided Bearing and Navigation Timer.

Lastly, while in Compass sub-mode, pushing the button 3 will bring you to the Dive Profile & Analyzer sub-mode.
