Hi,

I'm just wondering if there is any research to show that divers are more prone to OME (glue ear). Since I have started diving (2yrs), whenever I get a cold, it goes straight to my ears and they become blocked. My ears aren't blocked after diving. I don't recall ever having this problem before diving, but it may be because I am more 'ear aware' now, or could it be the result of a middle ear barotrauma I suffered early in my diving career, or are we just prone to ear infections due to the amount of time we spend in the water?

It's just frustrating because I haven't been diving for 6 weeks and now that my suit is fixed and the weather is ok, I get a cold and my ears are stuffed!

Thanks,
Mel :)
