First I would like to thank those who replied to my original question, and second to apologize for being vague.
Every now and then I get nasal congestion but never bad enough to where I can't breath through my nose, but enough to cause discomfort. I have never given it much thought until I signed up for o.w. lessons and started to read about air spaces and equalizition and was wondering if a 12 hour nasal spray would be ok. My class starts in a week so Ihave no instructor to ask right now thanks.

Pseudoephedrine is better but you need to take it in advance. Afrin is good for a quick fix.

Yep, if you can tolerate the Sudafed - type decongestants, they work well for some folks, myself included.
Do the 12 hour & take it the day before as well as before on the day you're diving.
It wouldn't hurt to do a search for ear clearing tips on the board here, you may pick up more (and better) ear clearing info than what's presented in your class.
