I have a question. I am currently taking a couple of meds for a sinus infection that caused me some pain diving a little over a week ago. The meds are Tequin and Rynatan. How long before diving again should I stop using these? I have a series of dives planned with a group of people this weekend. The sinus problem appears to have cleared up, will see my doctor this afternoon, so I need to know if it will hurt to continue using these until they are gone or not.

Thanks, Hawk.

I'm not familiar with those particular drugs(at least by name) however, if they are antibiotics they should be taken for the time prescribed.

I got my answer for this from my doc. Continue the antibiotic until gone, stop the antihystamine now due to the fact that it may cause drowsiness and use sudafed prior to diving. Everything is fine, checked my sinuses and ear drum response to pressure, clean bill of health. Good news, as I have had these dives planned for quite some time now.

Later, Hawk.

Might want to see the the current thread in this forum on Sudafed and panic as well search the achives for discussion of this and other issues such as Sudafed and oxtox.

Best regards.
