I've just bought a new drysuit, and might need to get the boots replaced with a larger size. I've seen several positive remarks about www.drysuitrepair.com in Minnesota - but has anyone used http://www.drysuitsplus.com in Wisconsin? They have the exact boots in stock that my drysuit (Typhoon) came with. Can anyone recommend a drysuit alteration place on the west coast?
Has anyone had attached boots on a drysuit replaced with neoprene socks - is it possible?
There is also a drysuit repair place right there in monterey.I forgot the name of it but a buddy of mine had his wrist seals changed there when he ripped one. They had it ready for him the next day.
Yes you can change out the boots for the neoprene socks and boot system. My other buddy changed his to that set up after not liking the built in boots.I know DUI sells the parts necessary to change over.If i remember right he sent his in to drysuitrepair.com
Doing cuff & boot replacements is much easier than rocket science, easier yet with good directions.

Doing boots/socks is basically the same.
The worse thing that happens is that you screw it up and you need to send it in and that is wear you are now.
If you can make these beautiful SS spring fin straps then you can replace the boots on your dry suit. I have confidence in you. If you don't have the time or don't want to hassle with it then that's something different.
I am sending my suit up to Superior in December to have the boots removed and socks installed. I talked to them early this week and they have no problems doing it. Nice thing is that they are in my neighborhood.
