Anyone know what lines of wetsuits might be negatively bouyant? I want to get a little bit thicker suit, but I don't want to add any weight!

Thanks!

By design, neoprene wetsuits tend to be positively bouyant. I have never heard of one that is negative. The amount of bouyancy tends to change as wetsuits age and the air cells 'crush'. This is also why the bouyancy of wetsuits change with depth.

On another note, I see you are in the Houston area and new to the board. Welcome! Be sure you check out the Texas Swamp Diving Team in the NDI Group Forum. Great bunch of people who meet at a dive location in the Houston area.

There are some that are neutral. One I had in the Red Sea 'floated' just under the surface when it went diving without me.

Extra lead wont be a be a problem under the water and a couple of pounds shouldn't make much difference above water

A (Polartec) fleece-lined lycra skin is supposed to provide as much heat retention as a 2mm Neoprene wetsuit. And the Polartec skin is neutrally bouyant.

So...instead of buying a thicker wetsuit, get a fleece-lined skin and wear it under your current wetsuit!

[I use my fleece-lined lycra skin instead of a 3mm shorty when I do live-aboards in the Bahamas or Caribbean.]
