Scubapro 3mm Everflex vs Thermal Tec

Hi all, I'm in the market for a new wetsuit for the tropics (mainly Phillapines) & was wondering wether anyone has any opinions on either of the 2 wetsuits mentioned in the title.

    Cheers

I have an Everflex 3... it's a decent suit & I got it at a good price when it was on runout, $99 IIRC. I don't think they make them anymore? so I'd be looking for a good discount on it over the current? Thermaltec. The seams, zips & material are good quality but as with any wetsuits the critical issue is fit - a cheap, well-fitting wetsuit will be better than a top quality one that just doesn't fit you. The E3 happens to fit me really well, although while the arm zippers make it easier to get in & out of, they get in the way a little when wrist mounting computers/bottom timers or compasses IMO

Annoyingly I bought a 5mm Everflex of the same size & it's ridiculously tight in the arms & almost impossible for me to get on or off by myself Luckily I hardly ever dive water below 25C, I think I've only worn it twice But again, fit is king

The only time I ever wear a steamer in the Philippines is when I'm doing wreck penetrations, otherwise I find a hooded vest under a shorty is fine in the 'winter'... but people have different tolerances for temperate water

Around here the termal tec is called/marketed as a Hybrid. I have no experience with the tec but own both 3&5mm everflex suits. The 3mm is perfect for what you require.
    • You can’t breathe water
    • You can’t swim through rock/steel
    • Extra gas is never too heavy to carry
    • Murphy is your eager and willing dive buddy

I don't care how good or experienced you are complacency on your next dive WILL catch up with you!!

Thanks for the replies, guess I'll just try them both on & pick the one that fits the best. Actually prefer the everflex as the thermal tech looks like something batman may wear if he were a diver, & I don't have the chest or Abs to pull it off

    Cheers
