gloves for cold water & cameras

research here and elsewhere has led me to the henderson gold core for easier donning and drying for multiple dives...
5mm has been fine for 46 degree water, so either 3mm or 5mm should do it... any thoughts about the gold core vs others? or for camera use? the shutter release halfway focusing position on my c-5060 is tough to feel with the 5mil, but usually works ok, and with a 1-gig cf a second shot isn't a big deal really... I've actually thought about cutting the index finger pad of the glove off to feel better.... t'anks

Ask one of the manufactures (asked a local one) to make a glove (I had only one hand done, both may be better) with thumb and index finger in 3mm on the 5mm gloves. I had to buy 3 pairs but they did it for me. I sold one pair and covered the extra cost of having them made up.

I have cut out the index finger but found that my finger went numb and I couldn't feel anything. That was in 4-5 C water.
