I have a self donning OS suit. I like the suit and it takes a beating but there are a couple disadvantages. The self donning makes a heck of a parachute in currents and there are no leg valves. The strap that tightens the extra material can slow or stop air flow from the torso to the legs and vice versa. I have wanted to put a valve on each leg but haven't gotten around to it.
I suggest you try before you buy, no matter which drysuit you decide to purchase, since its going to be a large chunk of change.
For the price I paid ($400) it was well worth it.
Here in Oregon where OS suits are made they have a very good rep. I've never used one but they are very popular and I've never heard anything bad about them.
