Big Grin what kind of fins are these?

Hello, I recently was certified, and I used my dads fins for the class. I really liked them I thought they were the Scuba Pro Jet fins, but they look a little different, so I was wondering if someone could identify them so I can try to get the same pair or what ever is the most similar. One is the Logo, one is the top and the other is the bottom. They are really old too. thanks for the help.

I'm sure the true fin experts will chime in with an ID, but just a note based on my experience:

I started with a pair of Rocket fins that I had bought at a garage sale for a couple of bucks (years before I took up diving). They looked very similar to yours (but different logo so probably not exactly the same). Later on I bought a pair of the ScubaPro Jet fins from eBay (still a bargain at ~$20).

I found that I like the Jets better. You may not feel the same way with your fins (because it sounds like you like yours), but although I generally liked the style of the Rocket fins, they did sometimes give me cramps. The Jet fins seemed to have everything I liked about the Rockets, but are better (for me). More flexible/resilient.

Just some thoughts in case you can't find any more of the ones you have, or you do consider trying the Jet fins.

yea, i have been looking at the jets and the XS Turtle fins, they look basically the same so think they will perform the same. The Jets more than the XS because I haven't heard or read anything about them thanks

As I have one of their catalogues, I can confirm that the logo on the fins indicates the KMAX brand. KMAX is a Taiwanese manufacturer of diving, surfing and swimming gear, including fins. Their website is at

    基貿實業有限公司 Kama Corporation Ltd.

Taiwanese diving fin manufacturers appear to swap their fin presses around amongst themselves and Aropec, another Taiwanese company features a similar jetfin clone on its own website at

Open-Pocket Fin, F-LY2 Manufacturer -- AROPEC SPORTS CORP. is a leading supplier and exporter of Open-Pocket Fin, F-LY2 in Taiwan, Asia

If that isn't the one, look at their fins page at

Diving Fin Manufacturer -- AROPEC SPORTS CORP. is a leading supplier and exporter of Diving Fin in Taiwan, Asia

they make more than one kind!

    Hope this helps.

FWIW I have heard poeple complain about stiff fins and stiff foot pockets of other knock offs. I bought my jet fins in 1986, love them and take them everywhere. they are not too expensive new and less used. They last forever. I think Jet fins are the way to go period.....
