Destin Jetty dive 3/26/07 (replacement for P'cola Beach dive)
After going for another ride in the washing machine with SuPrBuGmAn and never making it past the breakers at P'cola Beach, I decided to redeem myself and go to my beloved jetties. The water had been looking good in the pass the whole day as I passed it three times (once doing errands this morning and to and from P'cola). My pony regulator was full of sand and it hissed when the valve was open on the tank so I left the pony in the car. I didn't wear my hooded vest, just the 3mm full with booties and gloves. I had to rinse my neoprene before the zipper would even work from all the sand packed in it from the P'cola attempt. Upon reaching the beach, I found that surf was up at the jetties too - it was ankle high on the shoreline . I got in the water at about 5:30 pm. Viz was still hazy but might have gotten to 25'. Water temp was 69 degrees. I stayed on the protected North side of the finger jetty and practiced with the new camera rig. Not as many tropicals out as on Saturday, still life is slowly returning. At the end of the dive the sun was setting and it made for a nice picture. Speaking of pictures, here they are:
Psalm 104:24,25
O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.
So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts.

Great set SY! They kept getting better and better as I scrolled down! I'm jealous, I didn't get a redemption dive. I may be able to head back to P'Cola Beach again on Thursday though - apparently I'm working in the area again
