What a great day for a wreck dive.
Last night I decided to find a charter after everyone closed. American Dream advertises show up at the dock and dive, so me and a buddy did exactly that. American Dream was a nice boat with a fun young crew and I had a great time. The wreck “Tracy” was a blast I saw all the inside as well as all the outside had to offer. The Goliath Group and Loggerhead turtle where beautiful and the entire dive just so much fun. The second dive was a reef Shovel Head reef I think is what they called it was very pretty and I enjoyed it as well.
Can’t wait to next weekend

TRACY/KEN VITALE- 140' Drug Seizure Freighter, depth 75 feet/23 meters
This wreck site is part of a 5 wreck chain including - "Tracy/Ken Vitale", "Jay Scutti", "Pride", "Moonshot" and the "BH Lake". Advanced scooter divers may be able to dive more than one of the wrecks in this chain. Located seaward of Oakland Park Blvd. nearly 6 miles south of Hillsboro Inlet. Depth ranges from 56' on deck to 70' on the bottom.
Sounds like you had a wonderful trip. Glad you enjoyed it :-) I just recently started diving wrecks, and I'm hooked. I'll have to check that one out during Christmas break. Thanks for the report!
Captain Todd and Zack are great. We go out with them all the time. We did Hog Heaven and the Caves with them yesterday morning. I am working on the pictures I took right now.
You should keep an eye on their dive schedule. They do a dive called Tons of Steal. When the current is rignt they put you in on the southern, or northern most of the wrecks (depending on the direction of the current) and you drift them. The last time I did it with them we drifted 5 wrecks the first dive, and 3 on the second dive.
I am really getting "into" wrecks as well ... lol
Last weekend dove the Speigal Grove and Duane ... they are fun 2

Divergirl,
I also did the Speigal and Duane last weekend. I wonder if we were on the same boat? I don't remember the name of the boat, but it was located at a marine where there is a restaurant and dive shop on-site (of course, there are probably a lot of marinas in Key Largo that fit this bill.......lol.

Fisheye,
That sounds like a lot of fun! How much advance notice do you get about the current? I know it can be fickle and can change in a blink of an eye, but that would be so cool to be able to see multiple wrecks on a single dive!

There is usually some current at those wrecks, so it's usually doable. Call Todd and put the bug in his ear to do it again.
When I went it was a Saturday afternoon, and he called me early that week to get me to go. He usually keeps his dive schedule up to date on his website. It will have two weeks worth of schedule at a time.
