Popped my cherry at the Blue Heron Bridge

Well, I finally dove the famous BHB. On Friday I drove down to scope out the place and take a look. Tonight, Sunday, I got a park pass with Force-E and finally dove it. There were a few groups of people so I just did two 30 minute solo dives tonight. I took a break after 30 minutes to get my bearings. Found the upside down boat and the surprises inside.

Overall I am super impressed with the amount of aquatic life present in such shallow, desert like conditions. Tons of macro stuff, anemones, a barracuda, flounder, lobster, stingray, parrot fish, urchin, and more stuff that I don't even know what it is. I am hoping that the daytime brings as much life as the night.

This is really a great dive site and I only scratched the surface there.

    Ooops, sorry.

Water temp a balmy 76F (I wore a drysuit with thin thermals), no hood, thin gloves

Vis was a solid 20-30' which I am absolutely thrilled with.

Sorry, no pics. First dive in a new location, night dive, solo dive with dive float in one hand, flashlight in another and compass as needed. Did not take my camera this time. Don't ever plan on diving BHB without a camera in the future.

Back online, catching up with email and scubaboard. Rainy friday but with pretty good conditions diving, showed 75F
which is up a bit with the nicer weather we have had. The viz was in the 15 ft range. Saturday the topside conditions
improved a bunch. Very nice sunny day after the dive and an easy 20ft on the viz with water temps again showing 75F.
Cold front moved in saturday night so may see a water temp drop, not sure what effect it may have on viz. Lots of
stuff out and about both friday and saturday !
