Chicago, but dive in FL. Not true anymore, as I did my first Lake Michigan dive.

Just returned from Key Largo last week. Really enjoyed Amy Slate's Amoray. The room was clean and new, the staff helpfull, and the grounds quiet. The non-divers in the party also were pleased.

There are several dive boat operations within walking distance. I used Aquanuts because the Amoray boat was going to one of the deep wrecks that day and my daughter wanted to see the reefs.

If I make my trip in April, I will probably return there.

That's true - but I really like to sleep in Key Largo. Take a nap after diving, then hit the dive store, etc.

Here are my favorites, which are side by side properties with the same office, but managed separately. I used them for a Singles Dive Trip last month. Everyone loved it there!

    Both economical and homey!

BTW, Welcome to ScubaBoard. Why not introduce yourself on that forum, so we can welcome you appropriately. Click here: http://scubaboard.com/f19-introductions-and-greets.html and post your own, personal thread.

And, this thread would really get better coverage in the Florida forum. You might ask a Moderator to move it for you. That is, find a post by someone with a Staff badge, click the member's username, click Send Personal Message, then ask the Mod to move your Key Largo thread from General Travel to Florida.

You can test the tanks you breathe or - dive on hope.
    Testing is safer...

Great news for vacation divers who cannot talk themselves into buying a personal CO tank tester!

    >> Rent one for a week or longer here <<
Now let's see more CO readings in your trip reports, ok...??

By homey he means early 60's decor.

As my 16 year old daughter says - We don't stay there if Mom comes along on the trip...

    However, She loves the place.

    Condos

We stayed at Moon Bay Condos, right next to Amy Slate's Amoray Divers. If you are staying a week or more, I think condos are the best value. My wife found ours on line.

I had no bad dives, but Amy Slate's Amoray is definitely professional and worthwhile. Tavernier Divers (I think) was excellent and personal -- just three divers and the captain, a special trip to the "Eagle," at our request.
